The Buying Process
Boer Goats
First and foremost if you have a question and can not find the answer then please send me an email or a message on facebook ( Fairview Boers). I dont mind answering questions and would actually encourage you to ask because then I will know that you are a serious buyer. I love chatting with newbies as well! Please feel free to contact me! (Disclaimer: I will not have all the answers.)
If you are looking to get a goat from us then the price will depend on age, health, build, color and how much I paid for the sire and dam.

What to Expect
Goat kids are not sold before 8 weeks.
You will have to pick the animal up unless it is a kid. If you need a kid transported and are located close to me then I can transport for free but if it is over 30 minutes from me I will charge for delivery.
30 min-30$
1 hour- 100$
2 hours-200$
My goal is not to make money on transporting goats. Ideally I would like potential customers to come see the goat and herd before buying. Please only contact me for transportation as a last resort.
Another option would be to find a reputable hauler. They will probably have better rates since they are normally hauling more than 1 animal.
How we raise them
Boer kids are left with their mothers for the first 2-3 months. After this they might remain with their moms or be weaned in another pasture. We use rotational grazing. Some kids may be raised in the barn if we are looking for fast weight gain. We feed 16% goat grower from the local mill while in the barn and while on pasture. During the spring and summer months we may remove grain depending on the overal condition of the herd.
Shots:
Kids will get a CD&T shot after they are born and then again 2 weeks later.
Does get a CD&T shot every year about 2 weeks before they kid.
I will also give injections if a goat is low in Iron or if it is struggling I may give it a Vitamin B shot.
Deworming:
Goats are not dewormed unless they are showing signs of having worms. If an animal has worms then I treat it with Ivermectin and depending how bad it is I may bring them into the barn and put them on hay and feed so they have more time to recover.
CL, JOHNES, AND CAE
The herd is tested yearly for each of these.
ABGA registration
Kids will come with an application for registration. Goats that are percentages can be bought as commercial or registered. Fullbloods will only be offered as fullbloods unless they have been available for months without interest. They will then be availabe as commercial.
Holding, Reserving, and Paying
We will not hold a kid unless you reserve it. Reserving a kid will be half of its price. When you pick up the goat you will pay the other half. Money that is used to reserve a goat is not refundable. Reserving a goat is only needed with kids. Adult goats will not require a reservation and will be sold to who comes for them first.
Payment must be made in cash.
4H and FFA
If you buy one of my goats with the intent to show it then I will give you some of your money back. If you are showing at an ABGA show you will get more back than an FFA or 4H show. How much you get back will depend on how much I sold it to you for. To get some money back send me a message either on my Facebook page (Fairview Boers) or an email with a picture of the goat and owner and any prizes they might have won. These pictures will go on my page so that others can see what my farm produces. You will not get money back if you do not have a picture so please make sure to take one!
Mini Cattle
Mini cows prices will be from 1000-2500$.
